Tribal

Some landings were so severe that those colonists failed to save much. These colonists recovered what they could and formed shared resource communities. These colonies then moved into a form of rigid tribalism. Most tribes became nomadic, while others became authoritarian and rigid in their beliefs and societal structures. The ruling centres in tribes become a contest between those of might, the tribe's chieftain, and those of magic, the tribal shamans.

Once a tribal population reached a given area's resource limits, it split and moved to new areas. Some tribes split over purely ideological issues when a consensus could not be reached.

As the tribes spread, they started forming a more shamanistic approach to society. The colonies that resided on the Plains of Morag evolved into nomadic tribes based on the predominant life forms found in their gene-splice banks. Thus, we had the Tribes of Capall (horse), Eallach (Cattle), Eilc (elk), Cat, and Madra (dog).

The settlement area also tended to influence the ongoing makeup of their respective peoples. Those landing in the forests managed to form quasi-nomadic tribes that moved to new regions whenever they believed the resources of their current area became stressed, thus allowing these areas to recover. It is believed that these forest nomadic tribes evolved into the Elves.

The hillman also could be classed as nomadic in that they moved between two or more areas on a seasonal basis.
