Upon first landing the settlers were widely dispersed randomly across the planet rather than within local communities as originally planned. This meant that there were large discrepancies in the available talents in each of the settlements. Some settlements, especially those of single colonists pods disappeared. Some settlements remained with the pods, others fled and formed nomadic tribes.
This has caused society to split into different faucets. Civilisation has had to relearn it’s different forms of government, including slavery, theological and tyrannical dictatorships. The most common forms of society were kingdoms formed on the ancient earth feudal system, the city states formed along the lines of the ancient Greek city states and nomadic tribal societies.
